This position is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, reporting daily job information, optimizing crew productivity and ensuring quality workmanship. Operates and provides oversight of trenchers and underground equipment used to install underground cable and conduit for our telecom construction projects by burying copper, fiber optic and coaxial communications cable.
Job Duties:
Operates equipment related to the job
Helps supervisor schedule labor, equipment, material deliveries, and fuel deliveries
Monitor all job resources to enable successful completion of project scope without delay such as:
Job site accessibility
Ensuring materials are available
Safety Equipment, fall protection, Safety Fence and Posts, etc.
Takes the lead on construction activities
Communicate with field supervisor or construction manager regarding any issues or additional work
Maintain work truck & equipment – keep clean and organized, schedule service and inspections as needed, maintain inventory of small tools and safety gear.
Delegates fueling and greasing of equipment
Monitor and schedule service of small engine equipment
Monitor hours of large equipment for service intervals
Assists the field supervisor with daily reporting – detailed employee and equipment hours, employee attendance, production quantities, progress notes and photos, delivery/rental tickets, etc.
A background check and drug screen will be conducted as part of our employment on-boarding process.
