• 5 years CATV experience or related work history in telecommunications. • Understanding of and ability to use: signal level meter, volt-ohm meter, cable locator egress monitoring devices, spectrum analyzer basic time domain reflectometer, system maps • Excellent cabling skills – measure/dress/connectorize/test/label in Headend • Associates Degree or equivalent. • Valid driver's license with excellent driving record.

Headend Technician – Structured Cabling Engineer

Available immediately are several RF / MSO / CATV Technician positions. Qualified candidates will have previous experience in the installation, test, and turn-up of equipment within MSO / CATV Headend / Hub locations. This is a 75-100% travel position and you will work for up to 21 days in the field. This is a high profile position in the customers cable head end.

Previous work experience in the cable telecommunications industry is highly preferred, but not required. Candidates will be considered with the necessary skills and qualifications but MUST have prior telecom experience.

Skills Required:
• 5 years CATV experience or related work history in telecommunications.
• Understanding of and ability to use: signal level meter, volt-ohm meter, cable locator egress monitoring devices, AC clamp meter television test set, spectrum analyzer basic time domain reflectometer, system maps sweep gear.
• Excellent cabling skills – measure/dress/connectorize/test/label in Headend
• Read schematics and/or interpret similar information based on spreadsheet information
• Basic understanding of frequency spectrum and modulation schemes
• Communicate effectively and professionally with the end client/MSO and engineers
• Work under minimal supervision, within broad guidelines of procedures and goals.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times

Special Requirements:
• Body weight not to exceed 280 pounds, in order to comply with safety limitations of equipment.
• Carry, set-up and extend ladders weighing up to 100 lbs. Lift up to 100 lbs.
• Reach, push, pull, hold, grasp and perform fine manipulation on cable and electronic equipment.
• Work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather.
• Use the standard tools of the trade (screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, strippers, crimpers, hammers, etc.) to route cable, connect cable and install electronic equipment.
• Able to work a variety of schedules in order to provide needed coverage, for both normal and on-call duty. Including extended travel.
• Sufficient visual and aural acuity to operate a variety of standard test and measurement equipment.
• Associates Degree or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with excellent driving record.
• Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident.


Responsibilities include:
• Deliver, rack, and power equipment in designated locations.
• Install structured cabling in overhead or sub-level cable routes, including racks/cabinets.
• Test and measure all connections with extreme attention to detail.
• Work independently or as a team based on current scope of work
