Job Description
Position Overview:
Have the ability to operate or locate a Horizontal Directional Drilling machine in all urban, suburban and rural settings.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain a safe work site and ensure that all members of the crew are using the proper personal protective gear and are working safely
• Direct the locating of utilities to avoid utility strikes
• Direct the Landscape restoration
• Ensure that vaults are set according to specification
• Ensure that pipe/cable is placed in accordance with depth and location specifications
• Work in a crew environment and ensure that the crew is productive and efficient
• Complete as-built drawings as required
• Complete daily production reports
• Ensure that all MISS-DIG laws are followed at all time
• Proper and timely maintenance of the equipment, trucks and tools on site
• Ensure that equipment is keep safe from weather and theft
• Follow proper protocol damage reporting
• Safely transport equipment and materials between job sites
• Ability and willingness to do any and all work to ensure forward production is met
• Operate equipment/machinery as needed
• Any other job duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
• Ability to follow directions
• Have a valid state issued drivers’ license and be willing to acquire any certification to haul the equipment
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools
• Ability to read blue print drawings
• Must be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
• Ability and willingness to follow all safety requirements at all times
Physical Demands
• Ability to work 10 hour days
• Physically able to lift at least 50lbs on a consistent basis
• Work within a stressful environment
• Work in an environment that has fluctuating work schedule
Work Environment
• Outdoor position year-round
• Able to travel at least 2 weeks away from home per month
• Provide support in a fast paced environment to keep the project moving
• Work schedule may include nights and weekends
• Must be capable of working in a crew environment
