Job Description
Hotwire Communications is a very fast-paced cutting edge technology company that provides triple play telecommunication services to residential and businesses customers. Hotwire clientele ranges from college students to young professionals to high level executives to retirement communities.
Purpose: The Operational Service Technician is responsible for quality standards during installation and troubleshooting of Hotwire services including video, voice and internet. The Field Technician is the advocate for the community assigned within Hotwire. The Field Technician is the eyes and ears for quality of service provided on site at the community.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Installation, maintenance and repair of Hotwire’s full suite of services, including voice, data, video.
Troubleshooting all Hotwire services carried via our private HFC systems.
Perform installs, trouble calls, upgrades, and downgrades associated with daily route.
Requirements:
Must have minimum of 3 years’ experience in installing and testing cable, phone and internet.
Experience with Dish Network/Directv preferred.
Working knowledge of CATV systems including analog, digital, QAM a must.
Working knowledge of phone systems including VOIP and P.O.T.S.
Must be proficient at using small hand tools and larger power tools. Must be comfortable working on a ladder and all heights.
Ability to install and terminate all types of coax including RG6 and RG11 as well as Cat5/6 drop wire.
Ability to install and configure customer premise equipment such as modems, digital STB, DVR, and EMTA
Ability to trouble shoot video, telephone and internet problems from any telecommunications demarc to customer premise equipment.
Ability to use and understand test equipment such as signal meters, butt-sets, spectrum analyzers and cable locators.
Ability to configure customer computers for internet operations.
Knowledge of WiFi, routers, and gaming equipment a plus.
Must have valid driver’s license and transportation.
Must be able to work overtime, nights, and weekends.
Must be able to work with or without direct supervision.
May be required to perform non-essential duties as assigned by manager.
