Pay
Mainly UPGRADE EQUIPMENT: $75 per "UPGRADE", +$50 if wire needs replacement. Opportunity exists to do new installations, $150 per. We typically schedule 3-5 jobs of either type a day depending on speed and job type.
Qualifications
Experience with installation of telecommunications equipment on/in a customers home is required, specifically the ability to directly aim wireless equipment at a target. Former installers of Verizon Home Fusion, DirecTV, and any satellite dish have relevant experience. Need to be comfortable with up to 40' ladders and roofs.
Other Requirements
We require the contractor to supply their own liability, workers comp, and vehicle insurance, vehicle, ladder, and most tools. All Points Broadband will supply all installation materials.
Job Description
We have provided high speed wireless internet access to customers in Loudoun County since 2003. We are currently upgrading equipment at roughly 1000 of our customers houses, mostly located in Western Loudoun county. This wireless equipment is similar to satellite equipment, in that it must be accurately aimed at one of our access points, and it may be located on a customer's roof. Most of the work will be to swap out existing wireless equipment and replace the power supply. The "Upgrade" may require replacing old wire runs and minor configuration changes in the customer's wireless router and the wireless device itself.
Installations consist of a power supply located inside a home (near the customer's wireless router), a single ethernet cord to the outside of the house connected to the wireless device, which is usually mounted high on the eaves, though may also be mounted on the roof or a pole in the yard, to provide the wireless device with line of sight to one of our access points.
We will provide all training and support as necessary before and during each installation. You will have phone support available while aiming the wireless device.
We are looking for people with relevant experience, who are dependable, can stick to the schedule, are comfortable on roofs, and follows procedures. We can provide full time, ongoing work at least until the end of the year. We may also continue contracts further for the right people.
