HOURLY RATE ($12.00 TO $20.00 PER HOUR) BASED ON PAST EXPERIENCE AND SKILL WITH PLENTY OF OVERTIME
Qualifications
AWS IS CABLE CONTRACTING COMPANY LOCATED IN NEW YORK WITH OFFICES IN ISLANDIA, MIDDLETOWN, AND ALBANY. WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING TO HIRE TECHNICIANS WITH OR WITHOUT CABLE TV EXPERIENCE. SOME WIRING EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS BUT WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT INDIVIDUALS.
Job Description
The following is the criteria for the position of Cable Technician for Long Island. Please make sure you meet this criteria if you would like to apply for the position. If you do not, we will not be able to go forward because our customer has very strict hiring guidelines that we must adhere to.
CABLE TELEVISION INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN APPLICANT CRITERIA
1. No criminal record of any kind for at least 8 years.
2. Very clean driver’s license with no more than 5 points. No DWI’s for at least 7 years. If you do have a few points, you will be required to take a DMV Point reduction course, at your own expense, on line to reduce the points further. Also reasonable explanations for any suspensions that appear on your license.
3. Verifiable employment for the past 7 years. Your last 3 employers will be called and if they cannot be reached or have an automatic answering system, we will need copies of W-2’s. You can obtain them from IRS.gov if you do not have your copies. If you were attending school, we will need a transcript and/or bursars office bill proving that were in school. A copy of your diploma will be acceptable for high school.
4. Pass a 10 panel drug test.
5. Reliable transportation to and from the office every day.
6. The ability to work 6 days a week on a rotating basis.
7. Good physical condition with the ability to lift ladders and equipment in excess of 75 lbs.
8. No fear of heights.
9. Excellent customer service skills.
10. Ability to work independently, take and follow direction and use common sense.
11. Work and drive in all types of weather.
12. Good computer skills.
13. Great attitude with drive and ambition to be a part of a winning team and be an important team player.
