Job Description
Under general supervision, performs all aspects of cable installation and maintenance for single and multi-unit dwellings from the customer’s premises to the tap including leakage detection and repair. Provides the efficient delivery and service of the product into the customer site and provides the necessary education to maintain customer satisfaction. Performs related work as required.
Illustrative Accountabilities
• Performs all aspects of cable installation and maintenance and service calls in the customer’s premises, including, but not limited to, headend maintenance, outage restoration, coax splicing, amp setup, etc.
• Completes paperwork accurately and reports and records work order status updates to dispatch department.
• Read and understand system maps, plans and other visuals related to maintenance and service.
• Locate cable.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems as appropriate.
• Operates company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner, and in accordance with all laws and company policies.
• Operate, maintain and store all company equipment to company standards (i.e. vehicle, tools, materials and stock).
• Report or arrange for vehicle repair as needed.
• Report accidents, losses, injuries or property damage to supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required; trade school education is highly desirable.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to have a pleasant, courteous and business like appearance in dealing with customers.
• Requires a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Requires strong demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Must be willing to work various shifts including weekends, late nights, inclement weather etc.
• Must be able to work independently and as a group.
• Must be able to operate basic hand tools.
• Must be able to climb poles and ladders.
• Travel required.
