Qualifications
TO QUALIFY FOR THE EXPERIENCED HIRE BONUS YOU MUST: • Have at least 6 months of recent cable installation experience
• Pass a 10 question quiz with a score of at least 80%
• Successfully pass all certifications/tests required of new hires within the first two weeks.
• Demonstrate to Trainer the ability to complete common installation tasks in the field.
Other Requirements
REQUIRED: Valid driver’s license with no major violations in the past 5 years and no more than 3 moving violation. The knowledge and ability to pass two levels of the NCTI Technician Certification; Core Competencies & Digital Voice.
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Cable Technician is responsible for installing broadband products & services such as; cable television; High Speed Broadband Cable Modem Internet Services, digital phone service, digital TV; cable and phone wiring, network wiring, and wireless communication platforms. The installation of such products and services are to be made in accordance to broadband industry standards and specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES include, but are not limited to the following:
•Provide World Class Customer Service to all customers
•Maintain consistent direct communication with both CableNet Services and our clients dispatch centers.
•Demonstrate the ability to perform cable installation from tap to ground.
•Demonstrate the ability to perform cable installation from ground block into home.
•Demonstrate the ability to perform cable installation from inside home to terminal device, digital converter and or television.
•Complete all paperwork to include work orders, warehouse inventory sheets, daily and weekly billing sheets.
•Return all unused equipment to warehouse on a daily basis.
•Submit required equipment documentation to warehouse as required to complete daily work.
•Troubleshoot RF, Data and Telephony including proper use of multi-meter, signal level meter and PC operating system repairs as necessary.
•Perform any other related duties as assigned.
•Must work in accordance with OSHA’s Telecommunications Safety Standards (29CFR1910.268)
