Qualifications
Service Technician
• High School diploma/equivalent
• 1 year prior practical experience in CATV system maintenance, electronics and computer networking experience
• Demonstrate through testing via written and or oral testing the ability to trouble shoot system problems from the Node to the Home
Other Requirements
Lineperson 2
• High School diploma/equivalent
• Minimum of one year experience in aerial plant construction
• Experience in pole climbing
Job Description
Service Technician
The Service Technician tests and repairs cable and satellite television signals and associated equipment at subscribers’ premises. The primary responsibility is to run service calls from in-house to first amplifier in the run including forward, return, ingress, modem, leakage, Telephony, DCT, and HD. They are responsible to demonstrate a positive demeanor to the public and subscribers, conveying the Company and its services in a positive light. Performing correct hook-up of in-house cable, customer equipment and other special assignments as needed.
Lineperson 2
The Lineperson II must have the knowledge and ability to place strand, coaxial and fiber optic cable in accordance with accepted practices and standards. The Lineperson II must have knowledge in the proper placement of anchors and bonding, and all other aspects of pole-line construction. The Lineperson II must have the ability to handle lashing of coaxial and fiber optic cable and safely operating all equipment necessary to complete the task of strand and cable placement and safely operating vehicles and trailers used in performing the job.
