Pay

The Crew Manager salary is commensurate with experience -- begins at $75,000 annually. Technician hourly rates are $27 to $15. All positions are eligible for production incentives and profit sharing. Full benefits, including 401K match.

Qualifications

Experience with HFC networks, OTDR, fiber-optic network technologies, fiber blowing equipment and fiber splicing. Candidates with this experience plus supervisory and project management experience will be considered for Crew Manager; lesser experienced candidates will be valued members of the coax to fiber conversion teams.

Required vehicles, tools, materials will be provided by Deep Fiber Solutions.

Job Description

CREW MANAGER POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position provides jobsite and crew supervision and leadership of local market construction activities using Deep Fiber Solutions’ (DFS) fiber construction in core extracted coax technology in cable operator hybrid fiber-coax (HFC) networks.

Responsibilities:

1. Provides jobsite working leadership of a turnkey conversion crew which extracts the core from coaxial cables, blows fiber-optic cables in the vacant shield/duct, splices fiber and electronics and reactivates service on the new infrastructure.
2. Assists in the recruiting, assessment, hiring and training of local technical personnel to staff the crew.
3. Assures the development and well-being of assigned personnel.
4. As the senior DFS representative at the jobsite, manages customer relations to enhance the DFS and cable operator brands.
5. Manages work to prevent service outages.
6. Ensures efficient work order management, project scheduling and materials management to achieve maximum crew productivity.
7. Assists in coordinating planning activities with local cable operator engineering and construction teams.
8. Provides production reporting to DFS management for accurate billing, inventory management and productivity measures.
9. Recommends improvements to DFS methods and procedures, standards and documentation, tools and operational support systems to produce maximum effectiveness/efficiency and a quality customer experience.
10. Provide ongoing, on-the-job, equipment, technical and safety training to local technical personnel.
11. Promotes safety awareness, and adherence to the DFS Safety and Loss Control Program in order to provide a work environment free from injury.
12. Helps to define key performance indicators and service levels, create a process framework and initiate and direct improvement activities to achieve optimum production.
13. Maintains and safeguards DFS vehicles, equipment and tools.
14. Other duties as assigned.
