Job Description
As a nationwide contractor of voice, internet and television cable it services companies like Comcast, Charter, Time Warner, Cablevision and Cox Communication. JOB SUMMARY:
The Trainer will report directly to the area Operations Manager. The trainer will drive the recruiting process from sourcing candidates through hire, background, orientation, safety and technical training of all new technicians. Travel is required for this position including locations outside of the local markets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Drive the local on-boarding process including compliance of all new hire paperwork, sourcing candidates, recruiting, interviewing and selection.
Completion of new hire paperwork insuring 100% compliance to all federal, state, and company policies.
Conduct classroom training of all new hires including but not limited to, HR policies and procedures, safety and technical orientation.
Assure that the field training of all new technicians is conducted using the training manual, the field scorecard and the field training checklist. Administer exams and quizzes on trainees.
Assure that the new hires receive all tools, and safety equipment before entering the field and to make sure there is a proper hand off of the new technicians from field trainer to supervisor.
Work closely with the QC technicians to monitor the effectiveness of the training by measuring the quality of work performed by new technicians.
Work closely with the local Operation Managers to conduct safety training and tailgate talks.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties as requested by OM.
ABILITIES, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Carry, Climb and maneuver an 80-pound, 28 ft. extension ladder
May include some clerical duties such as answering telephones, filing, and data input.
Must be computer literate; Word, Excel.
Must possess tact; have above average communications skills to work effectively with customers, internal employees and field technicians.
Must have the ability to convey a positive and professional image.
