Job Description

Copper Splicer

General Summary

Perform basic service installations for residential and business customers for copper to the home projects.

Essential Functions

1.Splicing copper cables in both outdoor and indoor settings.

2.Ensure the completion with high levels of accuracy on all copper assignments by performing pre-checks to verify traffic and accurate labeling to maintain copper.

3.Ensure the integrity of the copper system by using approved industry test procedures.

4.Reading, creating and maintaining accurate splicing schematics and diagrams.

5.Inspect completed work for compliance and quality assurance

6.Must be ready, willing, and able to travel. Travel may be as high as 80%, depending on business needs.

7.Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.

8.Record all required information on work orders and surveys


9.Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman, Safety Director or HR Manager.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1.Ability to apply personal ethics, honesty, initiative, flexibility, responsibility and confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.

2. Knowledge of proper use splicing equipment, Including 710 and M2 splicing rigs.

3. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.

4. Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions including confined spaces and ladder work.

5. Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

6. Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.

7. Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.

8. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

Education, Training and Experience

1.Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.

2.Previous electronics or telecommunications experience is preferred.

3.Maintain a current and valid driver’s license and good to excellent driving record.
