no problem , i have done it that way many times [see my other replys], of course mine is in a bucket van so rain doesn't matter [lol]. really except needing a hz meter to set idle speed almost all onan repaires basic hand tools is all you need . mine has points but i think with a volt / ohm meter you can check the cik. boards . just don't try jurry rigging the wireing unless you understand onan's set up . i have seen guys melt coils and burn up elet. fuel pumps and worse . good luck and keep your back up batter charged [lol].
