Thats in all other areas of this industry as well. Put a few good in with the bad, so they kind of average out. Everyone all grouped like livestock and sold as a lot.
Sometimes there are people that respect quality contractors, but most just want cheap. The bean counters look and understand numbers. But its nature of all business.
Sometimes there are people that are just that good that they can follow the rules have good work morals and make money on those low ball prices.... But they are usually leaving out some steps.
There is a difference between cheapest and most value. Most of us know what we need to make a living. I'm not greedy person that lives a lavish lifestyle I'm pretty frugal. Me personally I either make a living or I stay at the farm. I will choose quality over quanity,and I like safety .(although some rules make no common sense)
