This is what gets me. Too many 'fiber splicers' out there that get by with just being able to burn 2 pieces of glass together, and prep a FOSC 450.
You put them in a situation where they have to doing any of the things you mentioned and they are lost and even someone holding their hand, they wouldnt be able to complete the job.
These are the guys making $20/hour normal in-house and happy to do so.
