Re: Contract to Centurylink in NC

I HAVE WORKED AS A CONTRACT CABLE SPLICER FOR CENTURYLINK FOR THE LAST 7 YR.'S AND WORKED UNITS ONLY AND MADE DAM GOOD MONEY. IN THE PAST I WORKED AS A TECH TOO [WHEN I HAD TOO] FOR UNITS AND MADE GOOD PAY [EASYEST AND CLEANEST WORK I EVER DID]. BUT SINCE WORK SLOWED AT THE FIRST OF THE YR. I DECIDED TO RETIRE. I LAUGHED AT WHAT WISE CONN. OFFERED TO PAY , SOCAL SECURTY PAID BETTER. STRANGE THING IS THE PRIME I WORKED THRU , WHO ONLY HIRED FULL SUB.'S IS PUSHING US OUT AND HIREING YOUNG GUYS AS EMPLOYEES FOR LESS MONEY AND ABOUT HALF ONLY KNOW HOW TO ''DIAL'' A PHONE AND MUST GOOGLE HOW TO SPLICE UP A PED / CLOUSER OR WORK IN A MAN HOLE. ONE GUY RAN INTO OLD LAYERED PAPER CABLE AND DIDN'T KNOW TO S**T OR GO BLIND. IN MY 38 YEARS THERE HAVE BEEN GOOD TIMES AND DRY TIMES BUT I ALWAYS MANAGED TO FIND WORK SOMEWHERE BUT WITH THESE LOW BALLING COMPANYS YOU YOUNGER MEN MIGHT WANT TO LOOK INTO TRUCK DRIVING I AM AFRAID. GOOD LUCK AND STAY SAFE.
