Re: Are diesel bucket vans that rare??
The main issue is fitting the diesel engine inside the engine compartment of the van itself. With the DEF systems on them the engine mass is too much for the small bay and access would be impossible with maintenance and repairs requiring massive and expensive work. The import vans IE: Mercedes Benz, Isuzu and others aren't a popular enough option for the bucket manufacturing companies to use but that should be changing now with these new 4 cylinder motors that Ford and the other Big 3 vehicle manufaturers are introducing. It should be an option before long so hang in there!!
