I was downtown..but don't recall such a building...however, at that time in my life all I was looking for was bars. I drank my first Lone star there, couldn't get over the fact that you could carry a bottle of black jack in the bar...and pay for a set up of ice-water-coke-etc.
Most of my free time was spent fishing over the hump back bridge in La. back waters. Also noted was the moth ball fleet of navy ships---strange site. Also seen the largest snake ever in those La back water....HUGH as in Python-Andaconda size. Orange great place but kinda of smelly from all the industry. At the time, we also built the cable tower right outside of town, all this when I worked for Jerrold !!! Take Care...Keep Safe !!!
