There was a story published online recently that I read, wish I could find the link, that the IRS is pushing for the change in the Industry as a whole. Too many Contractors in this huge Industry are and were not paying taxes, if they were they were cheating the system. With hundreds of thousands of Subs not oaying taxes correctly, that equated to a big chunk of change that IRS was losing out on. Thus Charter, AT&T as well as others have been pushed to restructure their Business Model to iclude majority of workers to be W-2 Employees, even to the point of having and requiring the Business Partners to convert their Subs to W-2 Employee Installers.
