3d printed car?

This is pretty cool but I'm kind of upset that I haven't heardd about this technology earlier.

Apparently Audi just '3d printed' this entire car. The way it works supposedly is you upload the image of a car on to this printing maching and out comes a physical version of the product.

Has anyone tried this or heard of this?

They also have these design files all over the place like for this auto cylinder:

Not sure about entire cars but heck if I could make a few spare or custom parts, I'd be laughing.
