Don't know how this reply got moved to water jet boring but I'll try again.
Look into getting your RCDD & BICSI certs. Then get into structured cabling they start at 70 to 90K a year. Get it with some of the bigger companies or a local,state, or fed government and you may start higher. You'll still be doing cable just a slightly different aspect of it.
