ATT don't like the rules that Google is play by

ATT sues Nashville over Google Fiber project that allowed a reform pole attachement process that lets Google hire their own contractors to relocate lines allowing for their attachment per NESC Spec's, now in Nashville...ATT owns 20% of the poles and the city 80%.   ATT says that only the FCC can regulate private owned utity pole attachments.
Folks...this battle has been going on in theis industry for decades...the cost to attach a line to a pole. It use to be just one price,  now if you add fiber, internet svc, etc...it's more money.

I fought this battle back in Topeka Ka - 1976, so we just set our own poles where needed
to keep from paying for the over rated charges of marke ready by local utilities.  They did not like it but was nothing they could do.  We either set a pole of went underground.  By the way,,,,,This Topeka Ka project had one of the very first fiber links constructed...from home office down town out to the construction warehouse on the other side of town.  We have big named consultants on site to view how it was constructed...then they became the experts by just standing around watching, as we built the dam system..pole by pole by pole.

That's the way it was in my days.......................Microman
