I worked at VZ for 18 years in a management positon, and was assigned / forced to work strike duty during the union strikes, and anyone out there who is considering doing this as a contractor really needs to think hard before committing. This is not / will not be a "cake-walk" position to be in. You will be harassed to no end, and VZ will do absolutely nothing to help you out. The unions deserve everything, and more, than what the are / have been asking for. They have been working without a valid contract for several months. I also know the prices contractors have been paid in the past to perform this kind of work, and it was a whole lot more than anything I have read in this string of messages. Don't let yourself be taken advantage of to help out a company like VZ. Stay away, support the union folks.
