Re: The Man Who Rode the Thunder

When I was in my 30's and living in the Bay area the wife and I would go to the Sacramento Vally on weekends that had severe chance of thunderstorms and we would rent a two person Schleicher ASK 21 high performance Sailplane, well long story short we got into a updraft that placed us into the center of a 75,000 foot Cumulus tower, I knew we were not going to crash into land or the mountains because of aircraft design, but 3 hours stuck inside a white pillow of cotton candy being tossed and turned like a load of clothes in a dryer just waiting to be spit out, well 3 hours and 40 some minutes we were spit out over the Salt Lakes flats 600 miles from the starting point, It turned out to be a very expensive weekend.
