Illegal Photos taken on private property

To all my fellow technicians in the satellite field. There are companies out here telling you guys to take photos of your installations. Just want to let everyone know the law about this.

It is against the law to take photos on private property without WRITTEN CONSENT FROM THE PROPERTY OWNER. If you are taking photos on customer property without written consent….you are breaking the law. If the company you are employed by or contracted with are telling you to do this, they are telling you to break the law. They must provide you with a legal document to present to the customer to sign for either consent or not consent to photos being taken on their private property. DirecTV HSP, Direct Sat, AEI (Smart Circle, Cydcor) and Hughes Net are all telling their technicians to do this. Some are even telling you that if you don’t take photos, you will be charged back, not paid, or terminated. This is BRIBERY! They cannot legally do this. They are telling you to break the law or you will be terminated or not paid. Check with an attorney. Technicians need to pull together and start a class action lawsuit against these companies. It is breaking the law and violating consumers 4th amendment rights and privacy laws.
