When working for the local operator and being shop steward, I was the safety guy, and we were on this check now and then of not driving with our belt and hooks when doing disconnects, once the manager knew we did this to safe time.
One my friends pulled into the parking lot, and in an attempt to take the belt off prior to being seen, he stepped out of the Van into his safety and it just threw him onto the parking lot. No harm - lots of laughs..
