Sounds great in theory, but was he splicing fiber  at nodes or locations that should not be open during the rain. Unless you are splicing cable and need to make money and can't afford to take days off.he placed the post several days ago at at that point he stated it had been over 35 days already, if I recall correctly. So he should have collected his 1st check by now, according to your contract. I wonder if he did'mm. Well, hope u all work it out and remember if there is a written agreement any oral agreement Does not count.. Read your contracts and bitch 1st, don't start working till u are somewhat happy with the agreement.
