Your talking trunk line splicing but saying tap-tap.  You mean taps on the trunk run??  Replacing the cable span then cutting over the taps.  Night work...Easements....how many a day are your doing or driving around hit/miss.  What happens is you kill the line, are you a tech...enough to get the system back up and running.  Is the work at your home base or you traveling to do this work. What ever the price they quote you...double it and most likely your still regret taking on the job.
