Both pulling and blowing work well...I have definitely seen more damaged cable with pulling. But once again it's having competent operators of the equipment and good set up! Pretty hard to damage cable blowing it. Good connectors and competent people splicing the inner duct are again a key to distance and amount of footage for a day. Placed and spliced fiber for over 15 years with AT&T....pretty much seen it all!
