Re: 1099 first timer, need advise


If you are just an individual and will not have anyone working under you that you will be responsible to pay, a sole proprietor should be fine.

If you plan on having any subs under you and/or you want to restrict your personal liability, then form an LLC.  Easy to do online in just about any State.  It's worked out much better for me.
