Don't forget,,,,if your spoil pile is with in 2' of the edge of the trench. The height of the spoil pile, is added to the depth of the trench. So,,,if you have a 6' trench, with a 4' spoil pile, 18" away from the edge. The trench will be considered to be 10' deep, in the eyes of OSHA.
