lets do this:

pick a node that has 0 problems, stick a dood at the node to inject on reverse to see what DB it is AT the optical reverse reciever (headend or hub site).

now stick the same dood injecting at the bad node with noise floor up, and compare the 2 signals, lets say the bad node has inject levels 40 db and the perfect node has 30 db turn the bad node optical reciever down 10 db and its set the same as the perfect node, in turning down optical recievers, u need to check the attenuator (inline pad) on the cmts. MOST cmts wants to see +1 db
