The 7-TG-862/XX-WC is a "Tilt Generator" and was built for use in the GNA and TNA but can be used in any Philips/Maganvox amplifier that has a 6-2E pin configuration. The "WC" indicates that the plug-in device has a plastic cover over the circuit board. (WC = With Cover). The "862" indicates a specific tilt from 54-862MHz. and the "XX" is the tilt of the device.
NOTE that the "TG" should be used in the GNA or TNA units that are used as a LAUNCH AMPLIFIER in the NODE. The reason is because this is a "STRAIGHT LINE TILT" and not a "LOGARITHIMIC TILT".
Since the RF output levels from the optical reciever in the node are FLAT (or should be flat) there is no reason for a "cable equalizer" in the interstage of the launch amplifier as there is no cable to be compensated for. If one is used, there could be either a slight "bow" or "belly" in the carriers due to the equalizers counter-response to a specified coaxial cable it was built to. If a TG/Tilt Generator is used, the carriers will yield a true tilt from bandedge to bandedge from the node's RF output.
TG's are not reccomended be used in the amplifiers in the network other that the node. Cable equalizers should be used in amplifiers past the node for flatness reasons and proper cable equalization.
I hope this has helped you.
Good Luck,
