The C31 does not have an ethernet port. It communicates to the HR-34 thru the coax abd the SWiM system. It is pretty much like the Hopper and Joey from Dish. It uses one of the tuners from the HR-34. The C31 does not have a tuner built in it like a Set Top Box does, so like the Hopper system, if the HR34 goes down the whole system goes down. More junk from the satellite companies.
