Make your own deal directly with direct TV.  As far as I know, they don't background check the actual owners of their direct vendors.  Then drive around with a dish and converters and offer instant installs.  Not that hard to sell door to door and collect money if you can give the customer instant satisfaction.  Or if you are lazy, offer a spiff to trailer park managers and apartment managers to birddog for you.  You'll make twice the money as the cowardly dweebs that won't hire you now.  I personally knew a pothead in DFW who had a prison record for assualt with a deadly weapon who made several thousand a week installing DTV on apartment balconies.  Guy could not only never pass a drug test, he would probably melt the sample cup!  LOL!  Seriously, he did what ever he had to do to get the direct deal with the dish company then let it rip.  My recollection is getting the deal is kind of a hassel but once you got it, you got it.  I also recall you get paid fairly fast too.
