Re: Gainmaker set-up procedure?

This should get you in the ball park.

High Gain Duals & Triples @ 870 MHz (using 1GHZ gear with 870 eq's)   47db @ 870,  34.5 db @ 55 MHz

Make sure AGC switch is in position 2 (manual mode)

Target input level: 9 dB @ 870 MHz (check inputs and pad to get 8dB hitting first chip)

If levels are still above desired output, pad interstage to no more than 3,  if still high, pad the rest out in the fwd output pad.

To set up AGC, check AGC pilot frequency and pad down to 34dB, (if you read 40 dB, then put a 6 pad in the agc pad spot), turn on agc (position 3), then turn agc gain pot until you get the level you had in manual mode.

Manual LE's 870 MHz(using 1GHZ gear with 870 eq's) 47db @ 870, 34.5 db @ 55 MHz

Target input is 10dB @ 870 MHz
Pad input accordingly to hit first chip with 10dB
Change interstage pad to achieve desired outputs (shouldn't be greater than a 7 pad in interstage)

Thermal & AGC LE's 870 MHz(using 1GHZ gear with 870 eq's) 47db @ 870, 34.5 db @ 55 MHz

Target input is 14dB @870 MHz
Pad interstage to achieve desired outputs
Check AGC pilot and pad agc pad down to 29dB, turn on AGC, and adjust agc gain pot to same level you had in manual mode.

Still, all the other guys are correct in the perfect world, but this should give you an idea of what levels you need for setup.   This is what we use in southwest FL
