  Right on/ And the answer to your ?.  Yes I have and it looked like hammered dog shit.  Had to go back and sneak a new 750 reel out of the yard.  Took 3 days to do a 1600 foot trunk run.  Never do that again.  A learning exp. can be costly.  If anyone again mentions driving off coax.  I'll run like hell.  Your post reminded me of a bad day out in the field and trust me all the cable gremlins were out and Murpheys Law Ruled
