Re: Sub-contractor line tech $$$$$$$

I've done the subcontractor line tech thing 4 or 5 times when sweep work was a bit slow or there was an overload of service calls for the system that I was working in at the time. I was paid $60.00/hr.... Got a handful of service calls or repair orders in the morning and went out and did my job. I usually was able to finish all of them in less than 8 hours...always billed 8 hrs....was never QC'd for this type of work....what can they QC anyway?... I enjoyed the work. Just took my time....found the problem...fixed it if I could or turned it in if it was in the house or needed new cable, etc. I found the work relaxing and a bit of a challenge as opposed to the production- go- go mentality of sweeping....and no 2 hrs of paperwork at night!...Never had a problem getting paid...same time frame as the in house techs... SO... go for it...$480.00 a day isn't great, but not bad...be efficient and keep your expenses down...you should be fine.
