Reverse Problems

WHEN CHANGING OUT HARD LINE CONNECTORS BECAUSE OF REVERSE ISSUES. WHAT ABOUT THE MARKS LEFT ON THE CABLE FROM THE CONNECTOR SHOULD IT BE CUT BACK ENOUGH TO ELIMINATE IT OR JUST PUT ON A NEW CONNECTOR. I WOULD THINK IF THE MARKS ARE LEFT IT WOULD CAUSE MORE PLACES FOR CPD TO ORIGINATE. IS THAT CORRECT?

Sorry for the all caps but my caps lock was on.
