I see a few folks commenting that an aluminum ladder is ok for mud or house work. I could not DISAGREE with you more… This is a big safety issue. Anyone how has been in the industry for more than a few months can tell you. We bond our drops and plant with power and phone and if a power drop to a customer’s home loses its neutral it will use the ground of the cable drop as a return thus it is energized. I know many of you have seen melted drops and red hot ground blocks from this very issue. Even though this is not an everyday issue a fiberglass ladder can save a techs life and an aluminum ladder should never be used for any kind of utility work.
