VZ is a different situation,

My read on that is the land line biz is being de emphasized. We had a DSL outage and it took them two weeks to schedule a tech to arrive and find a better twisted pair. Took him less than a half hour. But he had been scheduled for a morning arrival and had to go through hell to reschedule for an afternoon arrival here because they have been dumping techs as quick as they can. Those still working are being pushed and watched to dot the Is and make sure all Ts are crossed; use your wheel chocks and wear your hard hat or you are fired etc.

They could do better but they won't. VZ will remind you they also make cell phone service available without copper line needed.
