Re: Installer Injured In Pole Collaspe 7/15/2010

Yeah and back in the day I climbed poles they held up with lay-up sticks, all in the name of production, you either done it or were sent home. Course it couldnt really go far anyhow the cable would've held it up, its the dead end poles you gotta watch, they'll get ya quick especially on wreak-out. If you dont know to check a pole your climbing and how to do it you shouldnt be climbing anyhow. I call this proceedure addressing the pole and you better know how to do it and do it before you ever go up it,thats the problem here. The industry has got so bad they've run all the dawgs off with low pay etc and now we have people improperly trained and improperly supervised doing things they shouldnt because the company wont, not cant, wont afford to keep the old dawg around when hes worn out from building that company. Its gonna get worse because thats the way this biz is, your only as good as your last days work, your experience and knowledge counts for crap, cant put out no more, see ya.
