  The very reason that I dislike placing srand. It really isn't clear as to why the car hit the strand, or am I missing something?  Strand brakes are good tools to have, but they are fairly useless if there is no tension on the reel. If you have no brakes on your reel carrier, then like old says, just put some tension on the clamps as you pull through.
