First generation fused disk was jacketed. Had to be as it had a welded seam the length of the cable that had pinholes all through it that would suck water faster than DynaFoam. It didn't help the kinking problem only made it worse as you couldn't see them. Had to get up close to every loop. Worst problem was the expansion and contraction. On hot days the loop would kink, short the center conductor to the shield, then about 6 PM or so it would cool enough to open back up and the short would go away after you had spent all afternoon in 100+ heat humping poles chasing shorts. Put it this way, we had about 100 miles of 750/500 fused disk and about 100 miles of 750/500 DynaFoam. We liked the DynaFoam better. Ah the good old days, how I miss them, NOT.
