BUT! at this moment and no near future you cannot connect to a current NEXTEL Phone, Verizon has had the ptt feature for some time now and it would be a major expense for all company's that use the Sprint/Nextel system to all be able to be on the same page, It would be nice to see them combine Nextel,Verizon & Southern Linc to be able to communicate with each other but that may require the FCC to get involved and classify PTT as a source of Disaster Communications but untill then they(PTT Providers) are all keeping their codes locked down tighter then a ducks but in water
