    The problem with the universals currently on the market is that they
only send the RCA code at 56kHz and remember the 2009 models changed to
38kHz. We have provided this info to all the remote manufacturers that
we know, but it takes awhile to get the code into the remote and then
sell-through all the remotes they already had out that didn't have this
frequency in their database.
Since the frequency of the remotes and how the t.v. sees the remote
has been set to a lower number. RF noise that emits from the panel
itself is most likely knocking out the signal going to the set. That is
why you hear that it will power ON the set, but wont do anything else.
When display off, no RF noise, once backlight/panel is on and working.
Knocks out signal to t.v. set.
