State farm told me that as long as they (State Farm) have your contractor's (1099 Guys) certificate of insurance, I owe nothing for comp.  I had to hold a base comp for the contractor above me to have me on the job site.  I put in for $5K per year coverage which is cheap and then I get a rebate at audit time.  (No Employees). 

State Farm also stated that I, being the owner of my company, get no comp.  This is where my personal insurance is to kick in.  In order for me to be covered by comp I need to be an incorporation and draw a wage at which they will then charge comp rates accordingly.
