Umm gas is not your only expense. You write off mileage, at whatever rates the fed allows. You can also write off your meals if you are away from home. your insurances, your tools, your uniforms, your home office. While 50K sounds extreme on 77K of billing, I can tell you that when I drove in excess of 40,000 miles in one year my vehicle's expenses alone totaled a write off in excess of $15,000.00
